![]() ![]() Members of this D&D subclass are beefy, and also delightfully cursed. Take the hexblade warlock, for example: someone bonded to a sentient weapon. Warlocks aren’t even limited to being squishy magic users anymore. This eldritch being lets you speak directly into the minds of others - among other, more forbidden things. A shifting horror hidden behind the stars. Or my particular favourite: the Great One. They grant balls of fire, and the power to hurl people into Hell. Something that speaks through a tiny devil, fluttering on your shoulder. Or a fiend, hewn of fire and madness from the Nine Hells. Perhaps you’d like to make a deal with an archfey an ancient one who drifts inside your dreams with honeyed words and teaches you how to brutalise people’s minds with a wave of a hand. A good guy in a pact with an evil patron, doing his bidding on a rare occasion, while wanting nothing more than the destruction of this evil.In Dungeons & Dragons, a warlock is a dark magic user beholden to a pact with an unseemly entity. So the warlock is building his power for eventual revenge in the Warlocks Tomb but is too scared to not comply to "requests for information" that the patron might send. Now this warlock hates his patron with a burning passion while at the same time being utterly terrified of him. ![]() Larloch is lawful evil and the proposal made curtain since, and he was full up now no zombie servants. ![]() It is kind of what the guy said, but he never expected an actual trade. "go a head and kill me?!?! Why not you have taken everything else from me!?! If your just going to steel ever thing and leave me with nothing your just a thief!" … Larloch wasn't paying attention to this ant but herd the last part and made him warlock in trade for the corpses of the mans family he just turned to zombies to resupply his staff. I made a warlock of the undying who has Larloch as a patron because the warlock thought he was going to die and made statement in self defeat discarding all hope. If its weird and only half makes since, its even better because is detachment from normal sanity means what makes since to him might not even seem believable to normal people. So any pact can be good or evil as long as its supports one or both of those goals. He is obsessed with learning more about magic and being left alone to do it. I like Larloch… because he is crazy and lawful evil. The Gods of Mulhorand, Tzcazzar the Undying (its even in the name), Elminister and his fellow chosen, Nazram the World Walker, a Prince of Shade (I think a few survived its fall), the mortal mind trapped in the weave, Szass Tam, Brimstone the Vampire Smoke Drake, Dracoliches, Divine Minions (a template granted by Mulhorand Gods upon humaniods and outsiders that grants them immortality, fearlessness, unceasing faith, and the ability to shapeshift), Lord Soth, the Lady of Pain maybe, Dark Lords of Ravenloft (any I don't think they age), the Immortals of Mystera setting, The Nameless One from Planescape, surviving powerful beings of the Creator races like Bazram-Gorag Batrachi Lord of Chaos, Batrachi Doppelganger Haask Voice of Hargut, the Leshay (more likely Fey Pact), Surrurks, Archwizard Gromph, Skull Lords, Nightguants, this one is iffy, but an Atropal, Certain Telthors (fey Spirits some of which used to be human), although Telthors are more likely to offer Fey Pacts, Yuanti-Abominations.įor a really out there Patron, someone with the Imprisonment spell cast on them, like say a Princess who has the sleeping verison cast on her, she's eternally asleep which means she techniquely immortal, but you can still comminicate with her via telepathy perhaps, or a spell invading her dreams. This is obviously an update to the Sorceror King pact, themetically and style wise, so the Sorceror Kings of Darksun are obvious, making them perfect Templars. So far the SCAG gives some good ideas, like Liches like the Githyanki Queen, Vol, and Larloch, Asended Gods like Vecna, Demigods like Iuz, Incarnated Gods like Gilgeam, some odd sort enitities like the Undying Arera (sorry if misspelled that), and a ageless wizard. Just thinking up ideas for an Undying Warlock Patrons, and build choices that would reflect that Patron. ![]()
